While many of the other classic rock legends of the 1960s like The Who, The Rolling Stones, Cream, Led Zeppelin, & Jimi Hendrix are quite well known for their riff based rock songs, The Beatles are usually considered a guitar riff based band.
And there’s a strong reason| sound excuse| good reason} for that, The Beatles wrote all types of different songs with all kinds of different agreements. But they actually did sometimes write songs with some truly overwhelming guitar riffs too. And what follows are just some of the best of those songs.
‘Day Tripper’ – What a legendary guitar riff! It is one of those riffs where you right away know what it is as fast as you hear it.
‘Paperback Writer’ – here’s a tip : Listen closely to the harmony vocals. You could be shocked to realize what they are singing.
‘I Feel Fine’ – One of The Beatles best early singles. And that is’s saying a lot. The riff in this song is almost as immediately recognizable as the one in’Day Tripper.’
‘In My Life’ – This isn’t a’rock n roll’ song and not the kind of song people generally think of when they are talking about riffing on the guitar but I think the riff in this song is actually beautiful and completely timeless.
‘Birthday’ – This is a song that gets it’s share of’hate’ from some Beatles fans but it does have some pretty cool guitar riffs in it.
‘And Your Bird Can Sing’ – This song features some really cool guitar parts as well as some delicious words and great vocals. The Beatles were extremely good.

If you write songs about unique things like armpit fart noises, pooping your pants or horse and buggy drag racing I think you'll be better able to focus on your own material.
Don't let "the man" force you into writing about stuff like love, pain, sunshine or rain…let your guitar show you the way.
Maybe a tune like this one will get your mind off the mainstream diddies.
I woke up this morning and ate a Pop Tart
tore off my muscle shirt and ripped an armpit fart
my mom and sister gagged, those silly litte whores
but I got em back at breakfast by crappin' in my drawers
I tightened my butt cheeks and quickened up my pace
I ran out the door to the horse and buggy race
My butt is all nasty, it's leaking slimy stool
and filling up my shoes, a yucky brown pool
Some people think its ugly, others think its scary
but I'm running down the street counting dingleberries
I dont have time to wipe my butt, there must be no delay
and there's no way I would wash my butt in a European Bidet!
Hot Fudge Sundae, splattered on my back
Hot Fudge Sundae, a family friendly snack
Hot Fudge Sundae, shooting out my crack
Hot Fudge Sundae, a diarhea attack
Try to make a meaning of the song. Like what's the point of the song? Love, family, etc.
From the chorus, just try to make it to flow into another verse. Just try and think A LOT lol.
This guy, from Denmark wrote 3 songs (that i know of)

Nice work, you did pretty good.
Ok, I had the same problem as you. I play guitar, intermediate, not crazy solos, but then look at Kurt Cobain, my skill level is probably close to his but I just have a different style.
Anyway, I had tons of trouble, and it helped to first find yourself a drummer for your new band. That will help I swear. It makes you feel like you can go somewhere and its real music. After you get a drummer, go to a Jam Session, where you guys just play with no music whatsoever and try playing real songs together than go at making your own riffs. I suggest going to blanksheetmusic.com to print some tabs.
When you hear a nice riff in your jamming, be sure to write down EVERYTHING. even if you decide that you're changing it, keep the old one, you might need it later.
Another thing, you do NOT need a bassist in your band, but at some point you may want one.
Although you asked on writing songs, I think the best way is to get a band together, and just naturally play some basic chords and notes.
Then you need to pick a name, which is the hardest part ever. What's funny is you think names sound gay but if you were to pick the name Pearl Jam if the real band didn't exist it'd sound gay, along with other real bands.
Then you need to go play at your school talent shows, the park, your garage, etc. More importantly, have fun and enjoy playing. If you don't like playing your music, you shouldn't.
Brilliant Willy, Just Brilliant =D

if you have a mac, crank up garage band, i think there's similar software for pc's.
or get a keyboard that does automatic chords/accompaniment, but these usually sound pretty cheezy.
learning guitar is rarely free and NEVER easy, but it is well worth the effort.
hm i couldn’t tell the difference between photograph and painting comparing the final resault.
This is sick
I'm taking Music A-level and I compose in my spare time and I find the best method is to sit down at a piano or keyboard if you have one and try out a chord. Either just a simple C major chord or something more complex. Figure out some chord progressions that will make the basis for your piece. Then, if you have already created lyrics, sing the words in whatever rhythm you think sounds best. Make sure it flows and sounds singable. Then randomly hum out snippets of tune that go well with the set of chords you already made. Once you've composed your main melody, you can introduce other instruments, such as a guitar or whatever. Good luck <3
Nah, I think it will be fine. You just have to make sure you have the mic levels proper. Look for another singer that you can harmonize with for choruses, someone with a higher voice, that will give you guys a good mix.
